As a young man, Archbishop Glouster G Brooks, Sr. grew up in a church environment under the leadership of Reverend John Rice Sr. Pastor of St. Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago Heights, IL. His Mother served as a Deaconess, Usher and Church Secretary, his Father served as school Superintendent and Deacon. Archbishop Brooks, at 8 years of age, received Salvation through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As a teen, he severed as an Usher until he went off to serve his country in the United States.
Archbishop Brooks, Sr. felt a calling in his heart that he needed to dig deeper into ministry. He knew there was a calling on his life, but he needed more insight. His pastor gave him permission to go search out what the Lord had for him.
In 2001, Archbishop Brooks, Sr. became a member of the Apostolic House of Prayer in Chicago, Illinois where Suffragan Bishop Arthur Bell is a pastor. His thirst for knowledge and understanding of the word led him to explore more than surface information about the word of God. He also discovered the calling on his life after speaking to his pastor and the Diocesan Bishop, Arthur M. Brazier. He was sent to the Usher Board for one year. In 2003, Archbishop Brooks, Sr. began his ministerial studies under Diocesan Bishop Arthur M. Brazier.
In 2004, Bishop Brooks Sr. received his local license from the Apostolic Church of God Systematic Ministry Process, Aenon Bible College Indianapolis, Indiana and Aenon School of Theology. Through many years of instruction and training in the area of servanthood, Archbishop Brooks Sr. has become very helpful and an excellent instructor on the Ministry of Helps with emphasis on training in the area of Adjutancy and Armor Bearers and Spiritual Protocol. While serving in the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World (P.A.W.), Archbishop Brooks, Sr. traveled from state to state assisting church leaders in their endeavors.
In the year of 2005, Archbishop Brooks, Sr. while working in the ministry of “Men and Women of Wisdom Ministries”, was ordained Elder by Bishop L. Felix in the year of 2006, he stayed and help this ministry for several years.
Archbishop Brooks, Sr. started traveling and helping Pastors and Bishops in the PAW. After having a conversation with Archbishop D. Chase of Abyssinian Church he knew his calling was to Teach and preach the word he was going to be a “Theologian”. Archbishop Brooks, Sr. enrolled at Metropolitan Christian University and joined Abyssinian Church. Through his schooling at Metropolitan Christian University Archbishop Brooks, Sr. has received:
Bachelor of Arts Degree with a concentration in Ministerial Skills
Master of Arts Divinity with concentration in Pastoral Counseling
Master of Arts in Theological Studies with concentration in Teaching and Theology
Doctor of Philosophy in Religious Studies with concentration in Systematic Theology
From proper training of leadership he Received Holy Orders from Abyssinian Apostolic Church:
Ordained a Deacon in the year 2013
Ordained a Priest/ Reverend in 2014
Ordained/ Consecrated Bishop in 2015
Enthronement/Consecration Archbishop 2018
Archbishop Brooks Sr., who has been in ministry 20 plus years, is the Establishmentarian and Pastor of Grace and Mercy Apostolic Outreach Ministry in Bryan, Texas. On November 11, 2012, Bishop Brooks Sr. and his wife, Rev. Canon JoeAnna Thornton Brooks, began their church ministry: Grace and Mercy Apostolic Ministry.
Archbishop Brooks, Sr. is striving to fulfill the call of God in building up the Kingdom of God. He has been called, anointed, and appointed to teach and preach the true and living word of Jesus Christ with the Spirit of God. Grace and Mercy Apostolic Ministry Outreach is a shelter to those who have been forgotten or left behind. By reaching out to the community from all walks of life, support and guidance promote a lifestyle of salvation during a time when it seems Christian living is not popular among non-believers. He concentrates in the following areas: purpose, excellence, worship, anointing, praise, servanthood, and leadership. Grace and Mercy Apostolic Outreach Ministry is on the verge of true ministry and will move in the anointing of a Sovereignty God.
Archbishop Brooks, Sr. is over the South Western Jurisdiction of the Abyssinian Apostolic Church of the U.S.A. and the Adjutant General. He is the Diocesan Bishop of the Apostolic Diocese of St.Frumentius, Presiding Prelate of Apostolic Communion of Christian Churches. He’s a Council member of the International College of Bishops and a member of the Joint College of Bishop, Apostolic Communion of Anglican Churches and Oder of St. Paul. Archbishop Brooks also a recipient of Honorary Ph.D.:

Archbishop Brooks, Sr. is a family man, married to a wonderful wife JoeAnna, and has six wonderful children. His children are Glouster II, Donna, Temesha, Cintra, Latasha, and Ginnelle; 10 grandchildren Jacory, Jordan, Jason, Melinda, Gisselle, Joy, Joseph, Brooklyn, Russell, III, and Kadence.
